S03E28 – Growing Up
Good morning 👋
Although there is still some work remaining, by Friday PM I could see the finish. The progress made – especially compared to the current version – is indicative of the ambition set out for v2. It’s appropriate I give you an idea of the change coming. After all, I assume some of you are Appy Weather subscribers and this is why you originally signed up.
Take this string that is used in the current version:
Light rain from 7am till 1pm, but restarts at 6pm.
If the intensity of rain changes within this time, this isn’t noted. It will be now.
If rain changes at some point to snow, sleet or hail, this isn’t noted. It will be now.
If there’s a noteworthy change during the break in rain, such as a clear spell, this isn’t noted. It will be now.
If the intensity is heavier when it restarts, this isn’t noted. It will be now.
Furthermore, there’s now the possibility for time to be presented by the period of day it happens. And the point within the period too.
In other words, such a string is possible:
Raining from 7am till the early afternoon – starts light but becomes heavier. Clear spell for a few hours before restarting in the evening.
Looking good, if I say so myself. The only negative with these developments is there’s likely to be a lot of new strings to translate, possibly all within this module.
Have a great Sunday!
Best,
Bardi
